What is sertu, samak and semah?
Sertu is a way of purifying from Najis Mughalazah. This Najis comes only from Dogs and Pigs and it’s by-products.
The method of Sertu consists of 7 cycles of the wash where 6 washes are with pure water and 1 wash with soil mixed with water. It is a way to purify from the najis Mughalazah so as to be free from doubt.
The definition of Samak is the act of separating skin from the meat(Animal) by use of sharp equipment or chemical.
Far from the term Semah which is defined as the cleansing of a supernatural or paranormal kind.

Who can do sertu?
Any Muslim can Sertu – Man or Woman. The method is the same as above.

We at Happenstance provide residential Sertu services. Houses that was previously occupied by owners that have dogs as pets or kitchen that uses pork or its products. This service is as a way to eliminate doubt ( was-was) for new homeowners in their cooking, living and of course praying (Ibadah).
F&B Sector
We provide Sertu to new store owners taking over any kitchen or premise that was previously serving or preparing pork products.
Commercial
In vessel or ships, the galley will be Sertu as its part of the requirement for certain port of call or for the benefit of the Muslim crew working on board.
We also provide Sertu services for event premises that hold events for Muslim participants or guest where the catered food is Halal but the premise is a non-Halal venue.
Other services provided include Sertu of second-hand items bought for the kitchen or home. There are even needs for Second-hand cars, vans, trailers and even containers that have shipped or stored Pork products.
